    Hi all,

Project Family

Description

The Student Sustainability Committee has identified six focus areas for sustainability improvements on campus. Working groups will explore possible projects for future funding within each focus area. In addition, working groups will pre-review each funding application and make a recommendation to the committee for project funding. Each working group is chaired by a student SSC member and advised by a faculty or staff SSC member. The group project focuses are energy, food & waste, water, land, education, and transportation.

The Energy group will explore possibilities for carbon reduction through renewable energy, energy efficiency, and green building; Food & Waste will explore possibilities to expand systainable food consumption and responsible waste practices; Water will explore potable water use reduction, greywater use, and water conservation in campus facilities; Land will look at carbon sequestration and reducing inputs for managing landscapes; education will explore way to further incorporate systainability into curriculum, programming, and departmental educational missions; and Transportation will explore alternative, low carbon transportation options for students, faculty, and staff.
