Projects Updates for place: Campus Instructional Facility

  1. June 5 update meeting

    Associated Project(s):

    Morgan White, Daphne Hulse, & Sinead Soltis met to review the completed outdoor bin survey, which maps out the bins currently installed on campus and can be found in an ArcGIS online format. Over the next two weeks, the sites with a proposed bin installation will be finalized to resume installation. A follow-up meeting will be held Wednesday, June 7th, to better understand what is needed to get work order started. As a note, about 40 bins have been installed out of the 74 ordered.

    Update from Daphne Hulse 6/9/23: 43 dual bins were counted as installed on campus currently. A visit to storage showed that there are currently 80 dual bins still palletized (128 individual bins (64 pairs) located in PPSB shed and 32 individual bins (16 pairs) located outside near shed) and waiting for installation. According to the attached outdoor bin memo, 130 bins were originally purchased. We have 123 bins total accounted for (installed and palletized). 7 bins are unaccounted for. They may have been damaged/replaced.

    Hi Eric,

    Yes. The report is available on IDEALS https://hdl.handle.net/2142/111796, so publicly available. Correct, John has been doing further study on the CIF building. He has been working with me on the research… his PhD exam is next Monday, so pretty busy. I’ve only had a brief tour of the mechanicals when it was first built, so I can’t really comment about the system inside. Dr. Tugce Baser in CEE tbaser at illinois.edu I believe received a more detailed tour, so you might want to reach out to her. Here is some information about the mechanicals published for an ASHRAE award the building received.

  5. update on indoor bin count

    Associated Project(s):

    Just wanted to provide a wonderful update on Indoor bins for the iCAP portal: The campus has 180 out of 200 available multi stream bins deployed in 56 different campus buildings. According to the iCAP metric, we are 1/3 of the way to our FY24 goal. ~Sydney Trimble

  6. Master List of All Buildings With the 3-Bin Containers Updated

    Associated Project(s):

    The master list for indoor 3-bin containers has been updated. This list includes all 3-bin station deployments, with information regarding the building, floor, and P-Tag associated with each individual bin. If applicable, additional information regarding their location is provided as well.

    See the attached file to review the updated master list for the 3-bin containers.

  7. iCAP Indoor Bins Metric Update

    Associated Project(s):

    Hi Morgan!

    Just wanted to provide a wonderful update on Indoor bins for the iCAP portal: The campus has 180 out of 200 available multi stream bins deployed in 56 different campus buildings. According to the iCAP metric, we are 1/3 of the way to our FY24 goal.

    In the future, I think the iCAP team should consider changing the metric from number of buildings to number of deployed bins because not all campus buildings would be applicable for these bins. Especially if the buildings are offices, residential, or extension related. Orchard Downs and

    I also went ahead and updated the bin location master list that came with the project so your team can upload it. It was outdated and I have upgraded the layout of the list so it is easier to find information.
