CHP Landscape Sustainability Project

Project Description

The Campus Honors Program Landscape Sustainability Project aims to cultivate a welcoming array of native plants that inspires passing students, impresses visiting guests, and provides a nurturing foundation for local ecosystems on Oregon St. By replacing empty ground space with natives selected to thrive, we aim to support local species, including endangered or declining pollinators such as the Rusty-Patched Bumblebee. Simultaneously, the garden will provide an inspiring array of beauty while showcasing native plants and provoking interest in Illinois ecosystems and green initiatives. By engaging students to develop this space, we look to both cultivate plants and environmental stewards at Illinois.

This proposal directly funds the following. See approved budget for details.
