2026 makesmewanna (put art into it) festival

Project Description

makesmewanna is an annual arts festival committed to building community surrounding sustainability in the arts. By supporting local artists and businesses, we prevent one of the biggest ecological barriers in the arts: touring costs and lack of access. We collaborate with sustainable initiatives on campus, support and promote waste recycling, gardening, and secondhand clothing businesses in our printed materials, and premiere dance works focused on developing community, one of the three dimensions of sustainability. We also seek to build solidarity and increase collaboration across multiple art forms to best support the communities involved.
