While Professor Ximing Cai was the iSEE Associate Director for Campus Sustainability, he worked with PhD student Majid Shafiee-Jood to develop a comprehensive list of national research funding programs that could coordinate with sustainability sites and projects on campus.  In 2017, these files were linked from the Research Theme page on the iCAP Portal, and the related iCAP projects were linked for each of the national research funding programs.  In 2025, the list of national research funding programs was no longer accurate, and the iCAP Portal leadership determined that it would be best to remove that segment of the Portal records.  

The Research theme page intro statement said:

In addition to 2015 iCAP objectives related to research, the hundreds of iCAP projects are linked to a number of national research programs sponsored by various national funding agencies. A click on the plus icon by one of the agencies and then a second click on one of the programs under the agency will lead to a program page with a list of iCAP projects that are linked to the selected program.
