  2. PWR015 Lightbulb Replacement - Successful

    Dr. Mohamed Attalla, Executive Director at F&S, responded to Dr. Ximing Cai, iWG Chair, on August 22, 2019 stating, "We will prepare the report as requested."

  3. PWR016 Motion Sensor Lighting - Transmitted

    Following the completion of iWG assessment for PWR016 Motion Sensor Lighting, the recommendation was transmitted to Dr. Mohamed Attalla, Executive Director of Facilities & Services.

    See iWG Assessment of PWR016 Motion Sensor Lighting attached.  The iWG asks, "Please provide the Zero Waste SWATeam with an overview of the existing occupancy sensor efforts. Please explain the direction of these efforts, reasoning, and status/progress to date."

  4. PWR019 Sustainable Procurement - Transmitted

    Following the completion of iWG assessment for PWR019 Sustainable Procurement, the recommendation was transmitted to Director of Purchasing Brad Henson.

  5. PWR020 F&S Waste Report Endorsement - Transmitted

    Following the completion of iWG assessment for PWR020 F&S Waste Report Endorsement, the recommendation was transmitted to Dr. Evan Delucia, Director of the Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment.

  6. PWR015 Lightbulb Replacement - Transmitted

    Following the completion of iWG assessment for PWR015 Lightbulb Replacement, the recommendation was transmitted to Dr. Mohamed Attalla, Director of Facilities & Services.

  7. PWR014 Sustainability Ethics Training - Successful

    Following the completion of iWG assessment for PWR014 Sustainability Ethics Training, the recommendation was transmitted to Dr. Evan DeLucia, Director of the Institute for Sustainability, Energy, and Environment, who agreed that this is a great recommendation. Collaboration between the Zero Waste SWATeam, iSEE Communications team, and the University Ethics Office will result in training questions and videos to be included in the annual Ethics Training for staff and faculty.

  8. PWR017 Housing Representative for Zero Waste SWATeam - Successful

    University Housing Director, Alma Sealine, responded over email to Morgan White (Associate Director of F&S, Sustainability) in regards to the recommendation: "I support the recommendation."

    From this point on, Housing will be represented on the new Zero Waste SWATeam by Assistant Director of Dining Services Thurman Etchison.

  9. PWR015 Lightbulb Replacement - Submittal

    The PWR SWATeam compiled the following recommendation:

    "The PWR & ECBS SWATeams suggest a switch from conventional incandescent light bulbs to LED or CFL light bulbs
    • This switch would occur during REPLACEMENT of expired bulbs in all buildings and/or during remodeling. Such a switch needs to be implemented gradually, i.e., replacing the current incandescent lightbulbs as they stop working, with lower energy and longer life CFL bulbs."

  10. PWR020 F&S Waste Report Endorsement - Submittal

    The PWR SWATeam submitted a recommendation asking the following:

    "The PWR SWATeam respectfully requests iSEE to fully support the eight (8) recommendations stipulated in the F&S Indoor Solid Waste and Recycling Collection Report."

    An iCAP Working Group assessment of the recommendation began on July 2, 2019. 

  11. PWR017 Housing Representative for Zero Waste SWATeam - Transmitted

    The PWR SWATeam submitted a recommendation asking the following:

    "PWR kindly requests the addition of a member from the Student Housing Department to the PWRSWATeam. Ideally, this person would be a director or associate director so that planning and initiatives will receive attention at the highest level and be disseminated effectively."

  13. PWR013 Zero Waste Coordinator recommendation - Successful

    Dr. Mohamed Attalla, Executive Director of Facilities & Services, responded via email to iSEE Associate Director of Sustainability Ximing Cai affirming the intent of F&S to hire a full-time Zero Waste Coordinator:

    "We have reviewed the PWR013 Zero Waste Coordinator SWATeam Recommendation and iCAP Working Group Assessment, and we will proceed with hiring a full-time Zero Waste Coordinator. 

  14. PWR013 Zero Waste Coordinator recommendation - Transmitted

    Following the completion of iWG assessment for PWR013 Zero Waste Coordinator, the recommendation was transmitted to Dr. Mohamed Attalla, Director of Facilities & Services.

  15. PWR013 Zero Waste Coordinator recommendation - Assessment Started

    The iCAP Working Group (iWG) met on September 17, 2018, to discuss and start the assessment of the PWR 013 - Zero Waste Coordinator recommendation. The iWG's draft assessment was:

    "The iWG supports moving forward with hiring a Zero Waste Coordinator, and we would stress that their responsibilities are twofold: educate the campus on recycling, and to push for system changes to improve campus recycling."
