The iWG co-chairs, Ximing Cai and Morgan White, identified this recommendation as a small-scale reecommendation that did not require a full iWG assessment. They submitted it directly to the Director of Purchasing, Brad Henson, and met with him to discuss the need for a Purchasing Office representative to actively participate in the Zero Waste discussions for campus sustainability.
The iCAP Working Group (iWG) met on April 9, 2018, to start the discussion on SWATeam recommendation, PWR011 SmartWay Union. The iWG started the assessment of this recommendation during the May 10, 2018, meeting. The iWG's draft comment on the recommendation was:
"We agree that F&S and the Illini Union should participate EPA SmartWay Program. EPA has identified someone to assist with considering options."
The PWR SWATeam submitted a recommendation, to the iWG, stating, "A staff member on the University of Illinois Purchasing Division commit to regularly attend the meetings of the Purchasing, Waste, and Recycling SWATeam."

The PWR SWATeam submitted a recommendation, to the iWG, stating, "We recommend that a full-time Zero Waste Coordinator is hired."

The PWR SWATeam submitted a recommendation to the iWG stating, "We recommend that Facilities and Services and the Illini Union become certified as an EPA SmartWay Logistics Company Partner, following the example set by University Housing and Dining Services in 2013."

The iCAP Working Group (iWG) met on May 2, 2017, to discuss and start the assessment of the SWATeam recommendation PWR009 Paper Policy. The iWG's official comment for this recommendation was:
"We agree that the CAM policy should be updated. Information about the financial impact, including recycled paper purchasing options through F&S Campus Stores, should be provided more broadly."

The iCAP Working Group (iWG) met on May 2, 2017, to discuss and start the assessment of the SWATeam recommendation PWR010 Ethics Video. The iWG's official comment for this recommendation was:
"We concur. It would be good to promote this video to faculty and staff, as well as the students. The SWATeam also indicated that another video should be created, explaining the recycling process. We recommend iSEE reach out to F&S about developing such a video."

The PWR SWATeam submitted a recommendation to the iWG stating, "Publishing the Ethics Compliance Video concerning recycling including the paragraph summary."

The PWR SWATeam submitted a recommendation to the iWG stating, "The campus should implement the approved paper policy draft in order to increase required recycled paper content."

The PWR SWATeam submitted a recommendation to the iWG stating, "The campus should continue battery recycling. Whether this be department drive through the use of outside programs or a comprehensive effort, battery recycling should be a priority."

The iCAP Working Group (iWG) met on May 31, 2016, to discuss and assess the SWATeam recommendation PWR007 Dump and Run. Following the iWG meeting, Ben McCall directly forwarded the recommendation to iSEE (Evan DeLucia) on June 10, 2016.
The PWR SWATeam submitted a recommendation stating, "We recommend a campus stakeholder lead an effort to expand and improve the effort to capture items during Move Out – collaborating with the YMCA on the Dump & Run. This action includes filling gaps in staff & volunteer coordination, campus space coordination, and facilitating vehicles and staff time to run them."

Following the completion of the iWG Assessment for the PWR006 Expanded Recycling, it was forwarded to F&S.
The iCAP Working Group (iWG) met on September 25, 2015, to discuss and start the assessment of SWATeam recommendation PWR006 Expanded Recycling. The iWG's official comment for this recommendation was:

The PWR SWATeam submitted a recommendation to the iWG stating, "We recommend that the Waste Transfer Station accept all plastics number 1 through 7 to simplify what can be recycled and to better align with what is accepted by the Cities of Champaign and Urbana, The University of Illinois Chicago, Parkland College, students' high schools, and students' homes."
