Accessible Gardening in Orchard Downs

Project Description

Family & Graduate Housing, a unit within University Housing, wants to provide a sustainable, ADA-accessible gardening opportunity for all students and their dependents living in the 1,100 university-owned apartments. Currently, there is no accessible gardening anywhere within the apartments. This project will create a space with raised garden beds, where all students will benefit, not just able-bodied students, to grow their own food, thus implementing a sustainable practice. Additionally, the project is required to investigate sustainable procurement options for timber.

This proposal directly funds:
1. Raised Garden bed materials, (sustainable)
2. Metal fencing, decomposed crushed granite, and labor.
3. Installing water spigot and materials.
