This project is about making it easier to know who is doing what research. We have built a prototype: https://gies-dashboard.vercel.app/ This is a mission-driven challenge: How can we better connect the University of Illinois’ research expertise to students’ needs and society’s needs? Imagine a dashboard that shows how a professor’s solar research led to a local company employing 200 people. Or how education research helped close achievement gaps in Illinois schools. Or how public health innovations travelled from campus labs to rural clinics. With the SSC funding support, this dashboard will become a scalable web-based research impact dashboard that makes university research more discoverable and actionable. It enables students to find faculty aligned with their interests, researchers to identify collaborators, and industry partners to locate academic experts.
