G7E Vehicle

Project Description

G7e is Eco Illini’s newest supermileage vehicle project for the semester. It will be electrically powered, translating battery power into mechanical power. G7e will teach students key values of sustainability and energy efficiency, showing how battery electric vehicles can be viable alternatives to internal combustion vehicles. Split into Mechanical, Body, and Electrical Subteams, students will get unique hands-on experiences maximizing G7e’s efficiency capabilities by optimizing transmission and motor systems, reducing weight and drag on the body, and revamping electrical components and microcontroller units.

This proposal directly funds:
1. Mechanical Components of Electric Vehicle
2. Body Components of Electric Vehicle
3. Electrical Components of Electric Vehicle
