Illini Light Savers

Project Description

The purpose of this project is to provide an energy consumption reduction solution for The English Building. Light control alternatives are proposed as an ideal solution by installing occupancy sensing light control modules that can automatically shut off a room's lights when not in use. Eleven rooms (classrooms and restrooms) have been selected for the improvements. Facilities and Services will be critical in designing and implementing the improvements; the parties benefiting from these improvements are the departments and students utilizing these rooms. Students will see the improvements first hand. Additionally, any excess funds built into the margins of the labor and wiring could be used to make fliers.
