KCPA CPH Cyc Light Replacement

Project Description

Krannert Center for the Performing Arts aims to upgrade all the stage lighting in the theaters to LED fixtures. The fixtures we would like to upgrade this semester are the CYC lights that wash our Cyclorama in the Colwell Playhouse Theater. These fixtures are original to the building. Each unit can pull 8,000 watts each and were put into service in April of 1969. This puts the fixtures well past their intended life span and very inefficient. New LED Cyc lights pull 800 watts each. Now that the LED has proven to be an effective tool in theaters, it only makes sense to start upgrading with the oldest and less efficient fixtures. In the Fall of 2024, we replaced the Tryon Festival theater Cyc Lights with thanks to SSC. We wish to continue replacing these much-outdated fixtures with new LED fixtures.

This proposal directly funds:
1. LED CYC Lights
2. ThruPower Modules
3. LED Fixture Power Sources
