Liquid Rocketry at Illinois, Fluid and Internal Structures
Project Description
Project Description: Under Liquid Rocketry at Illinois, the subteam Fluid and Internal Structures (FIS) is in charge of the Propulsion Module. The Propulsion Module tests the internal systems of the rocket in order to ensure that the propellants are delivered to the engine. This includes dealing with fuel and oxidizer, which are energy dense propellants. The propellants that are being used are isopropyl alcohol (fuel) and liquid oxygen (oxidizer). Currently, FIS is working on preliminary design and sizing of the Propulsion Module.
