Strong Towns lecture by Charles (“Chuck”) Marohn

Project Description

The purpose of this SSC grant request is to fund a campus visit by Charles (“Chuck”) Marohn, author of the book “Strong Towns” and founder and president of a non-profit advocacy organization of the same name. Building from his background and experiences asboth a planner and an engineer, Mr. Marohn founded Strong Towns as a way to support more sustainable, resilient, and financially viable development patterns in U.S. towns and cities. The organization, which has a national audience and reach, addresses diverse strategies for sustainable growth, ranging from transportation and land use to housing and infrastructure.

This proposal directly funds: Costs to cover speaking and traveling costs for Charles Marohn
