Thin Client - FAA

Project Description

This proposal looks to improve the energy efficiency of campus computing by utilizing energy management software for traditional computers in the College of Fine and Applied Arts (FAA). $5,000 will be used to purchase Verdiem Surveyor energy management software, which allows for great energy saving potential for FAA's traditional computers. FAA will monitor the software to gather evidence of its costs and benefits to facilitate adoption by other campus units, in addition to loaning out licenses to other departments for initial testing and helping other units deploy the software. This project will increase awareness and provide tangible evidence of campus commitment to responsible sustainable behavior. Thus, the Student Sustainability Committee is in favor of funding the fully requested amount of $5,000.
