Campus Race to Zero Waste (Ongoing)

Description

In 2014, UIUC participated in a national race for campuses across the country to show their commitment to recycling and reducing landfill waste. After a 7-year break, the university is once again making large strides to foster our Illini commitment to protecting the environment. The Campus Race to Zero Waste, formerly known as Recyclemania, often takes place in the spring semester of the academic year. For a duration of 8 weeks, F&S gathers and reports the waste data from campus, and iSEE will promote recycling and waste reduction across campus. Together, we can implement the Illinois Climate Action Plan (iCAP) objective to reduce landfill waste.
