Donor Contributions (Ongoing)

Description

The University has a rich history of being supported by donors. In conjunction with the University’s more focused climate commitments, as relayed through the 2010 Illinois Climate Action Plan, donations with a sustainable focus-area will be emphasized and encouraged.

One example of such a donation that the University has already received is the donation made by John Francis Pizzo of Pizzo & Associate, Ltd. to contribute to the prairie at Florida and Orchard. Pizzo granted the University of Illinois Foundation and Board of Trustees design services, seed, and labor for the creation of a prairie zone at the corner of Florida Avenue and Orchard Street in Urbana. The gift was estimated to be a $20,000 value.
