This project aims to create a building-level energy usage report with information about each specific building.  The initial pilot case will be Lincoln Hall, and behavior change strategies will be incorporated into the final product.

Energy Billing System (EBS) Access

To gain EBS access, download the forms "FASTNET" and "User_Request_Form-EBS". Read these forms, fill out any require fields, then submit those forms back to fandsebsrequests@mx.uillinois.edu.

Facilities & Services established “Low Mow Zones” in 2010 to support sustainability, increase pollinator support, and decrease maintenance costs.  Due to the continuous presence of invasive species and undesirable tree saplings, all campus areas need to be mowed occasionally to help further balance and maintain the environment. 

In FY16, the Retrocommissioning teams completed six buildings.  

In FY15, the Retrocommissioning teams completed twelve buildings. 

The 2015 iCAP, chapter 9, objective 4 is, "By the end of FY16, evaluate the feasibility of internally putting a price on carbon emissions." A detailed study by campus experts, drawing on expertise of corporate partners and other universities, could be conducted to determine what implementation would make the most sense for our campus. 

The 2015 iCAP, chapter 12, objective 3 is, "Foster “actionable” research: to encourage and support research that provides real-world solutions to society’s grand challenges in sustainability, energy, and the environment.

The 2015 iCAP, chapter 12, objective 2 is, "Build connections: to bring together scholars from across campus to encourage collaboration, and to enhance research endeavors."

The Energy Scholars, Water Scholars, and Global Climate Change Scholars have been identified and introduced to each other, through the iSEE website.

The 2015 iCAP, chapter 9, objective 3 is, "By the end of FY16, identify the amount of funds that are available across campus for projects that do not offer a rapid financial payback, but which are nevertheless important for improving campus sustainability, and identify options to increase that amount annually."

The 2015 iCAP, chapter 8, objective 4 is, "By FY20, utilize offsets to meet all iCAP emissions targets that have not been met by direct emission reductions.

The iCAP 2020 objective 8.7 is to "Establish a local offsets program by FY24." The responsible campus unit for championing this objective is iSEE.

We are pursuing local carbon offset programs, in part to mitigate greenhouse gases (GHG) generated as a result of university air travel but primarily as a way to educate faculty and staff about air emissions.
