SSC funding award letter
Associated Project(s):In October 2010, the Student Sustainability Committee (SSC) wrote a letter to the Office of Sustainability at the U of I recommending that the wind turbine project receive $500,000 in funding with following conditions:
1) That all funds provided by the SSC be returned in full if the project is postponed, cancelled or placed on hold.
2) That all funds provided by the SSC for be expended by December 31 st, 2011 and that a final report of all work completed and accounting of funds spent be provided to us by that date as well.

Associated Project(s):The Student Sustainability Committee (SSC) was in favor of the wind turbine project and hence, approved the funding proposal in the amount of $500,000.

Associated Project(s):I'm from the Student Sustainability Committee. This year, we are interested in funding a project that will utilize students to help to achieve the University goal of weatherizing campus buildings. Suhail Barot pointed me to you as good people to talk with to start a conversation about what F & S would be looking for in regards to such a program and getting ideas going to submit in response to the Committee's RFP.I'm from the Student Sustainability Committee. This year, we are interested in funding a project that will utilize students to help to achieve the University goal of weatherizing campus buildings. SSC progress on composting project
Associated Project(s):SSC minutes from 10/8/10 include this update:

SSC proposes composting
Associated Project(s):Student Sustainability Committee (SSC) includes composting on list for proposed funding. Kevin Wolz assigned as SSC Intern “working at feasibility of composting.”
SSC funding requested for start up costs
Associated Project(s):In November 2009, funding was requested from the SSC to support the start up costs of the campus location. Unfortunately, this funding was denied.
SSC funding request with departmental contribution
Associated Project(s):Morgan Johnston, Transportation Demand Management Coordinator at F&S, requested $10,600 from the Student Sustainability Committee to upgrade the bike parking areas in three areas on campus. This request included a departmental contribution of $2,318.53.
Funding request submitted to SSC for FY10
Associated Project(s):In April 2009, The Bike Project (TBP) representatives submitted an application for funding to the Student Sustainability Committee (SSC). In June 2009, the SSC awarded $30,000 for the shop construction.
SSC and SECS letter writing campaign
Associated Project(s):In January 2009, the Student Sustainability Committee (SSC) and Students for Environmental Concerns (SECS) wrote letters to the university administration (trustees, Chancellor and Provost’s offices, deans and assistant deans, department heads, faculty and senate faculty) asking for support for the campus wind farm project.

Associated Project(s):Following the cancellation of the wind turbine project on South farms, the Student Sustainability Committee (SSC) and Students for Environmental Concerns (SECS) wrote a complaint letter to the Chancellor Richard Herman. SSC and SECS expressed their disappointment about the decision as well as the timing of the decision. They were also upset because the university didn't discuss or consult with the student stakeholders in this decision.
