In addition to out-of-classroom educational opportunities promoting bicycle safety, there are growing academic opportunities to engage students in bicycle planning and promotion within the classroom.
Students enrolled in the UI Bikes Learning in Community (LINC) course have new opportunities to work on bicycle-friendly projects across campus each semester. Students in Ming Kuo’s Fall 2012 Environmental Psychology course created TakeTheBike.com, which is a mobile website that has resources for bicyclists in the area.
Faculty are encouraged to contact Amelia Neptune, Campus Bicycle Coordinator, to learn about new opportunities to integrate bicycle efforts into course curriculum and class projects.
