  1. FSI Fire Station

    As part of the Lighting Retrofit #5, 127 T-12 fixtures in the FSI Fire Station were replaced with more energy-efficient T-8 fixtures. This switch will incur an Annual kWh Savings of 20,183 hours. The simple payback for this project is 1.51 years.

  2. FSI Firemanship Training Facility

    As part of the Lighting Retrofit #5, 51 T-12 fixtures in the FSI Firemanship Training Facility were replaced with more energy-efficient T-8 fixtures. This switch will incur an Annual kWh Savings of 8,576 hours. The simple payback for this project is 3.28 years.

  3. FSI South Storage Building

    As part of the Lighting Retrofit #5, 10 T-12 fixtures in the FSI South Storage Building were replaced with more energy-efficient T-8 fixtures. This switch will incur an Annual kWh Savings of 1,139 hours. The simple payback for this project is 12.71 years.

  4. FSI Storage Building

    As part of the Lighting Retrofit #5, 26 T-12 fixtures in the Admin Tech Info Building were replaced with more energy-efficient T-8 fixtures. This switch will incur an Annual kWh Savings of 3,048 hours. The simple payback for this project is 18.86 years.

  5. FSI Hazmat Storage Building

    As part of the Lighting Retrofit #5, 20 T-12 fixtures in the FSI Hazmat Storage Building were replaced with more energy-efficient T-8 fixtures. This switch will incur an Annual kWh Savings of 2,278 hours. The simple payback for this project is 6.64 years.

  6. Main Library (Remainder)

    As part of the Lighting Retrofit #5, the remaining 5,646 T-12 fixtures in the Main Library were replaced with more energy-efficient T-8 fixtures. This switch will incur an Annual kWh Savings of 849,998 hours. The simple payback for this project is 3.11 years.

  7. Natural Resources Building

    As part of the Lighting Retrofit #5, 2,711 T-12 fixtures in the Natural Resources Building were replaced with more energy-efficient T-8 fixtures. This switch will incur an Annual kWh Savings of 424,466 hours. The simple payback for this project is 2.2 years.

  9. Green roof on Art & Design and KCPA Funding Agreement

    The goal of this project is to construct a green roof atop the Link Gallery between the School of Art + Design and the Krannert Art Museum. This project will be implemented primarily by students and faculty of the School of Art + Design and will be in a highly visible campus location. It will help reduce energy costs at the facility and provide rain water for the surrounding gardens. As Facilities & Services is expected to cover half the cost of resurfacing the roof, the Student Sustainability Committee is in favor of partially funding the  proposal in the amount of $63,900.

  10. Campus-wide Bike Parking Funding Agreement

    Bike parking is essential for supporting green commuters as well as raising awareness and supporting biking on campus. In 2009, the SSC funded $10,600 for standard bike parking at three popular locations on campus, Freer Hall, the Undergraduate Library, and the Agricultural Engineering Sciences Building. Later in 2012, SSC provided $225,000 in order to replace old donut-hole bike parking with U-loop parking at the Armory, the Main Library, the Foreign Language Building, and other high-traffic areas on campus.

  12. Bike Parking Funding Agreement

    The goal of this project is to fund installation of bicycle parking facilities at the Undergraduate Library, the Ag. Sciences Engineering Building and Freer Hall. Cycling is a sustainable form of transportation, highly used by the student body, and inadequately supported on campus. Thus the students sustainability committee is in favor of funding the full requested amount of $10,600.

  13. LED Exit Signs Phase 2

    LED Exit Signs

    Phase 2 of the LED Exit Sign project to replace incandescent exit signage with LED fixtures started on June 30, 2008. This phase of the project will replace fixtures in the Armory, Foellinger Auditorium, Harding Band Building, Illini Hall, the Optical Physics Building, the Illinois Program for Research & Humanities, the Architecture Building, Noble Hall, the Art & Design Building, the Music Building, Flagg Hall, and University High School.

  14. LED Exit Signs Phase 1

    LED Exit Signs

    Phase 1 of the LED Exit Sign project will replace incandescent exit signage with LED fixtures in facilities used for the Engineering Open House. The building involved are the Material Sciences and Engineering Building,  the Mechanical Engineering Building, the Transportation Building, Altgeld Hall, Morrill Hall, Burrill Hall, Noyes Laboratory, and the Undergraduate Library.
