  2. Davenport Hall

    A total of 2,030 lighting fixtures in Davenport Hall were changed from T-12 fixtures to T-8 fixtures as part of the ICECF Lighting Retrofit. This will allow an Annual kWh Savings of 363,141 hours. The Simple Payback for changing the fixtures in Davenport Hall is 1.36 years.

  4. Freer Hall

    A total of 629 lighting fixtures in Freer Hall were changed from T-12 fixtures to T-8 fixtures as part of the ICECF Lighting Retrofit. This will allow an Annual kWh Savings of 100,595 hours. The Simple Payback for changing the fixtures in Freer Hall is 2.49 years.

  5. Natural History Building

    A total of 2,153 lighting fixtures in the Natural History Building were changed from T-12 fixtures to T-8 fixtures as part of the ICECF Lighting Retrofit. This will allow an Annual kWh Savings of 345,994 hours. The Simple Payback for changing the fixtures in the Natural History Building is 2.37 years.

  6. Funding for employee from F&S Executive Director

    This afternoon, I verified with Jack Dempsey that he is still willing to fund a 900-HR extra-help employee for the first year of the new Campus Bike Project.  The employee will be paid $12.00 per hour for 900 hours, so the full cost is $10,800. - Morgan Johnston

  7. Main Library (6th Stack)

    A total of 379 lighting fixtures in the Main Library (6th Stack) were changed from T-12 fixtures to T-8 fixtures as part of the ICECF Lighting Retrofit. This will allow an Annual kWh Savings of 55,547 hours. The Simple Payback for changing the fixtures in the Main Library (6th Stack) is 6.66 years.

  11. Wohlers Hall

    ICECF 2009 Lighting Retrofit [ARCHIVED]

    As part of the ICECF 2009 Lighting Retrofit, 1,071 T-12 fixtures in the Wohlers Hall were replaced with more energy-efficient T-8 fixtures. This switch will incur an Annual kWh Savings of 168,358 hours. The simple payback for this project is 0.83 years.

  12. Interim Report of sustainable operations task force

    The Sustainable Campus Operations Committee (SCOC) was charged with developing the operational plans for a sustainable campus. The approach taken by the committee is aligned with campus strategic planning. The implications of the campus strategic plan and the sustainable campus plan are intimately connected, and they should be discussed in ways where their linkages are visible and understood.  Decision-making for sustainability needs integration with decision-making at all levels of university administration. In this spirit, the format of this interim report provides an overview of the preliminary goals, strategies and metrics for sustainable campus operations.

    Is your farm sustainable?  How can you make your farm sustainable?  The Illinois Farm Sustainability Calculator can help you figure out these things out.  And it's pretty easy to use.  See the list of tabs on the bottom of your screen?  Navigate through them by using the grey buttons at the top of the sheets or by hitting ctrl+page down (cmd+page down on macs)  In each sheet, fill each white box with data from your farm.  Be sure to make a selection in all of the white drop-down boxes too.  If you don't know something, leave the default number or the default selection in place.  If your farm does not have ten separate fields, leave the extra field sheets unchanged.  Same goes for any extra ruminant, swine, and poultry sheets.

    A total of 2,694 lighting fixtures in the Foreign Language Building were changed from T-12 fixtures to T-8 fixtures as part of the ICECF Lighting Retrofit. This will allow an Annual kWh Savings of 424,790 hours. The Simple Payback for changing the fixtures in the Foreign Language Building is 3.06 years. Occupancy sensors were also installed in this facility for further energy savings.
