Description
In September 2022, the Associate Vice Chancellor and Executive Director of Facilities & Services Ehab Kamarah presented a summary of options for meeting our iCAP 2020 objective for clean energy use to Chancellor Jones. One option was to add a third on-site solar farm, in conjunction with an indirect power purchase agreement. The idea was discussed further at the Sustainability Council, and F&S is now investigating the opportunities for adding another solar farm on South Farms, between Solar Farm 1.0 and Solar Farm 2.0.
The first step is an evaluation of the existing electrical infrastructure and any needed upgrades. That study was begun in 2025, through F&S Capital Programs.
