The Energy SWATeam's meeting in September involved discussions on 2018-2019 recommendations and 2020 iCAP objective ideas.
Dr. Mohamed Attalla, Executive Director at F&S, responded to Dr. Ximing Cai, iWG Chair, on August 27, 2019 stating, "We will review options for incorporating geothermal into existing campus documents, and share our thoughts with the iWG before proceeding."

Dear FY19 SWATeam members, As another academic year is about to begin, we want to first thank you for all of your help moving campus toward the goals outlined in the Illinois Climate Action Plan (iCAP). Each of the six SWATeams worked on multiple recommendations last year, and after careful evaluation by the iCAP Working Group (iWG), several recommendations are under consideration now at the appropriate campus units.
Following the completion of iWG assessment for EGEN010 Geothermal Feasibility Study, the recommendation was transmitted back to the Energy SWATeam to conduct additional analysis and investigation of current campus geothermal efforts.

Following the completion of iWG assessment for EGEN009 Campus Geothermal Policy, the recommendation was transmitted to Dr. Mohamed Attalla, Director of Facilities & Services.

The eGen SWATeam submitted a recommendation to the iWG, proposing the development of "a policy for the consideration of geothermal energy systems in all new or retro-commissioned buildings on UIUC campus."

An iCAP Working Group assessment of this recommendation began on June 7, 2019.
The eGen SWATeam submitted a recommendation to the iWG, proposing that the university "Enter into a contract with an engineering firm to evaluate
the feasibility of implementing geothermal energy technologies in future new construction and retrocomissioning of buildings on the UIUC campus."

On Tuesday, April 30th, the eGen SWATeam had their final meeting of the 2018-19 school year. Recommendations for the iWG May meeting were finalized along with the 2015 iCAP Chapter Evaluation. Andrew Stumpf was also named the next chair of the eGen team.
On Wednesday, April 17th, the eGen SWATeam had one of their final meetings of the 2018-19 school year. Discussed was the 2015 iCAP Chapter Evaluation and potential recommendations to iWG.
On Wednesday, April 3rd, the eGen SWATeam had another meeting to discuss a variety of things ranging from potential recommendations, SSC, to the status of the 2015 iCAP Evaluation that is part of the process for drafting the 2020 iCAP.
On February 19th, 2019, the eGen SWATeam had their second meeting of the spring semester.

On December 6th, 2018 the eGen SWATeam had their 6th and final meeting of the Fall '18 semester.
On Thursday, November 15th the eGen SWATeam had their 4th meeting of the semester.
On Thursday, October 25th, the eGen SWATeam had their third meeting of the 2018-19 fall semester.
On Thursday, October 11th, the eGen SWATeam had their second meeting of the 2018-19 school year.
